If this is in the wrong forum.. sorry I'm new here I used virtualdub to split this 707MB .avi file into 2 smaller ones.. but the outcome was 2 files each 40GB large!!!! is this normal?? I'm pretty sure I selected the Direct Stream Copy option in the Video menu.. but lets say I didnt' and I left it in full processing mode.. would that be why the files were SO large.. or are they always that large???
If you neglected to select direct stream processing then that is what probably caused the humongous file size. The default setting for full processing mode is no compression at all so, will make files huge. Hope this helps.
