I've just bought a digital camcorder. It's great and easy to use but I've noticed background noise when playing a movie. It sounds like the camera's mic is picking up the noise of the tape turning. Can anyone help?

    It's a JVC GR-D73.

    Thanks!

Nothing you can do about it. JVC`s are alot quieter than the Canon`s though (by 75%). Sony are a little quieter but some Panasonics are just about silent.

Some camera`s may be able to have a mic fitted nearer the front and turn off the onboard mic.

Take it back and pay the extra for a Panasonic if it`s really important to you (like if you want to record someone singing like we do... we have the JVC DX95 which is a little noisy but had more features than the Panasonic).
