Thanks for the input Greensman ^^ after seeing the reviews of Asus P8P67 its actually not bad, compared to the P67A-UD3 so now with you guys pro opinions, which one is the better one? that will bring the most out of the whole system?
I use the 850W. It's nothing like Zalman's smaller units. The ZM850-HP is an amazing unit, if a little outdated, but I can't say what the smaller units (750W and less) are like.
GTR it's about what you wanna "try". With what I read I wouldn't be "afraid" of the Asus P8P67 Deluxe model. I"m NOT a true "fanboy" of much out there. Maybe Muskin RAM and Corsair PSU's but NOT stuck on those for everything. lol. I've owned (own) both Asus and Gigabyte mobo's and like features of both. ASUS has a "richer" OC bios than Gigabyte but from what I saw of "windwithme" OC "review" the Gigabyte mobo looks better in that arena than it ever has. ;p From my own experience Asus and DFI have the better of the OC'ing features that I've messed with. There are some other members that might disagree with me but hey we each have our opinions.. kinda like noses... most of us have one. GOod luck to you and happy building.
I like modular. "Cleaner" if you ask me. I have one of the "smaller" Corsair units (not modular) and it does all I need it to... I don't run SLi and it's powering an older cpu so no worries about needing some Tim Allen power. lol. I would "guess" the ZM500 would FIT your needs fairly well. NOTHING wrong with the 48W single rail of the Corsair GS-600 tho!!!
yeah thanks greensman, will look into it, plus my friend bought the Asus board with the i5-2800 1155 and he oc it over 4GHz mark with like 1.2Xv which is pretty good tho ^^

Asus boards usually overclock well but so do Gigabytes, and they have done for several years. The featureset isn't really an issue, though usually same-spec Asus boards cost more than their Gigabyte counterparts. The issue is quality. Asus stuff is bottom-tier build quality, whereas gigabyte stuff is usually solidly made.
hmm...i think what you're saying is all personal preference to what to get. but as for now, ZM500-HP is my first choice then TX650w.
I was reading up on CX power supplies a little, from what i remember, Corsair went el cheapo on them, in respect of their max output. So a 500W unit wouldn't be capable of delivering anywhere near 500W, something like 380W. OK~ after checking the price for zalman ZM500-HP its nearly the price for a HX650w, but for my future build, i still think its a OverKill! but maybe i can keep it for longer?
Nothing wrong with getting a little larger PSU. Especially modular, since u can use the cables needed and not worry about a bunch of mess to hide later. Let us know what u go with and how it does for ya.
Yeah corsair have been cutting corners all over the place now, it's very disappointing. Negative reviews of their memory are slowly building up. A real shame as Corsair was one of the companies we used to really be able to trust.
all companies will have their highs and lows... but hopefully their psu is still in its highest quality tho~
