Hello - I hope this is the correct forum for this question. I have an Xvid .avi-file that displays the following message when played in Media Player Classic: "This .avi file was not prepared for sequential viewing, the alternativ "Avi splitter" will now let the default one handle it. The complete reinterleaving of this file is strongly recommended before burning it onto a slow media like cd-rom." Then, the file plays with no problems. I'd like to backup the file to cd-rom - so what do I do? - Grateful for hints and tips. cheers, - yallabong.
It sounds like your AVI was not interleaved often enough... Most people interleave every frame, but every 10 frames is adequate (and will generate a slightly smaller file). Any interval greater than this is too long. You can easily re-interleave the AVI: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/112561 This fellow has some timing problems, but if you do not, then you're almost home If the file will easily fit 700MB then I recommend interleave every frame. Check it out, and ask any more specific questions if you require. Regards
