help reading dvd

    i am having a problem it is taking 1 hour and 20 mins too read any dvd what is wrong with my set up please help

    What is your set up?
    Hardware? Software? OS?
    What program are you using to read DVDs?

    Has it always taken this long? Have you checked your ide settings? Are they set to DMA?

    i am new to this it used to read a dvd in about 40 min. ... all i do is hit smple mode and hit start... so ho do u find out what i am reading it with........and dvd rom is in dma mode

    what do u mean by hardware........... my software is dvd x copy platium. and my os is windows xp and i am set on dma not pio............. any suggestion.... it just started doing this about 2 weeks ago.......
