PROBLEMS CONVERTING XVID PLEASE HELP....

I've always used canopus procoder to convert my xvids,vcd's etc to mpeg2 files, then i use tempeg to output the file to audio/video ts folder, and sometimes the file is to big, so then i have to run it through dvdshrink before burning and when i play the dvd the lipsync is totally out. I always check the file before converting and the lipsync is fine, it's when i've done all of the above that it does this.
Please help.
