Hey, What's the best way or program to burn avi's or xvids to a dvd. I purchased a dvp 642 and would like to put some of these files on dvd, but am not sure how to go about it. any help is appreciated.
If you want a quick solution, I use the program FairUse to backup the DVD to a XVID AVI file with MP3 audio...then burn a DVD in Data format using Nero. The files all play fine in my 642.
Also check out AutoGK (Gordian Knot) and Dr. Divx ($$$). Both are pretty much one click operations after you get the settings (input output, quality level) to your likeing.
If the files are already divx or xvid burn them to a dvdr or dvdrw.....preferably rw....that way you can make sure all play in the player....then burn them to a dvdr for final copy. That way you dont make any coasters. Just use nero, select dvd(iso). Drag and drop.....burn. Simple as that. Camaro68
