i have 16 .avi files. all are 4CC video. all have different video codecs specifically divx 3 low motion divx 4 open divx divx 5 and different audio codecs to various to mention. i would like to make all these .avi files exactly the same for video and audio. by any means necessary. any suggestions as to how?
Reencode them using the same audio/video codecs. You will notice a dramatic change in quality, but that's about all you can do if you need them to all be the same. Unless of course you have the source material, then you can encode them from that and not have such a quality lowering.
Why? It will require a great deal of time, effort, heartbreak and a significant loss of (already-dodgy) quality. It is the answer to a question no one has asked - it's a bad plan. I could tell you how, but trust me, don't ask They will all playback using the same, recent DivX codec or FFDShow, and all the audio's (though different) will all playback. If you want them 'the same' then encode them all to DVD. I use NeroVision Express 2 SE. Regards
