thats not what I meant. I meant is it possible to take a 360's hdd and put a bigger SATA drive inside of it. Like you could with the origional xbox. Also could someone plz help me wit my other questions in my first post

For the First Questions...
you can either flash your DVD Drive or put a modchip on it...95% will say flash it...
for the HD question i believe i read somewhere about llama replacing there original with a larger one but im not sure...google will be your best friend with that question..
i suggest you download the tutorial on the first page.

Ok I was wondering if there is any way to softmod the XBOX360 like using a program and having Linux or something because someone else got the splinter cell linux on their 360. Any help would be appreciated.

Alright lads! This might be a very old question but i'm still not too sure of the answer, can you use homebrew on xbox live, and/or is there any conciquences in doing this??

ok I have another question. How likely is it that you will get banned from xbox live if you flash your drive. Like if you only play origionals online and play backups offline

There's is no 100% way to be safe if you're using a flashed 360 on LIVE. There's always a chance of a ban. Especially with GTA4 right around the corner. There's already a sticky about banning and GTA4.

hey guys.so i've been trying to figure this out all night but i can't get past a certain point with this tut. Everything is hooked up and i have my usb with all the files on there. and i have my PC rdy to boot via USB. Agreed to the disclaimer,lol..then it says i must turn on the xbox dvd drive, enter in my serial and press 1 for that pri master(XTREME)...once i do, nothing happens?... the tut says it's suppose to read the drive and say that a green message will popup, but nothing happens at all. can someone help me out here? oncei get past this i should be fine but i'm not sure what to do.

btw, im using currently the Samsung Ms25 with ixtreme 1.4 i believe? via USB connection.Nvidia nforce Serial ATA controller chipset(this is the SATA port im using, but not sure if it's enabled properly..)
any help would be greatly appreciated, really confused on how to get past this step, i just need the xbox drive to be read so that i can make the backup and flash it..

if I flash my 360 and htne it does end up getting banned does it ban the 360 or does it ban my ip?

What speeds did you guys flash your drives to? I flashed mine to 8x and I'm wondering if I should have flashed to 12x. GTA4 does a lot of loading on the fly so it probably wold be beneficial to re-flash to a higher speed wouldn't it?

dont know if your mobo sata is compatible with dosflash...
make sure u disable raid in your bios.
if that dont work u can try and use the ms28 10 second trick because it sounds like it hanging like an ms28.

yeah.i tried the 10 second rule,that didnt work.it's weird but when my sata cable is plugged into SATA 1 it says no drive detected( i have 4 SATA ports) but when its in 3 or 4 it works...not sure,it comes up with the Xtreme Pri Master, whic hi click on,then it just hangs and doesn't do anything.

Just wanted to be sure, I see models that are specific to certain drives.
thats the one i have and works great with benq's, just make sure you plug the drive into the sata slot closest to the front of the PC.

I was following the Textbook’s Xbox 360 Firmware Tutorial and i have a BenQ drive. I started to Flash the drive but then it said-
Reading Bank 0 . . . Control-Break pressed.
Terminate batch file 'C:\IPREP_1\DBEN.BAT' (Yea/No/All) ?
What did i do worng and how do i fix it?

Hi im a noob and new here.. but i think i flashed my ben q looking for someone to confirm because i dont have any backups or xbox 1 games so... i went through all the steps on the textbook untill it said the flashing steps i did the flashing steps then it started on the next page with something about a ntfsdos cd do i really need to make the cd or did i accidently venture into an alternative way of flashing it?

if you followed the guide for booting off of a usb stick and everything went through from reading the firmware and then flashing the 4 banks you should be good to go.
the ntfs cd is an alternative way.
