    Hi everyone,

After looking through the majority of posts that might have to do with my problem and following ScubaPete's tutorial with DVD Shrink I am still producing coasters. I was burning along just fine with DVD Shrink when I got an error that it could not write end of Burn-at-Once or the "lead-out" I stupidly didn't copy the error message and cannot find any log for it sadly.

The DVD was Suicide Kings (Great Movie!)
The Media was RiTek Ridata DVD-R 4.7GB 8x
The Burner is Pioneer DVR-108 Firmware v. 1.14
The speed I tried burning at was 6x

I have Nero 6 installed but I don't see any of the evil nero spawn programs that I have heard mentioned.

Any help is greatly appreciated wether it fixes my problem or not although preferably it does fix it :).

    get anydvd

    get cloneDVD 2

turn off internet - take off firewall - turn off antivirus - shut down unnecessary processes, etc

    then backup :D

My firewall and AVG Anti-Virus can cause that? Damn, that's crazy. I will try what you have reccomended and see what becomes of a blank DVD do you reccomend a speed I should burn at I'm pretty sure my DVD-Player is very pissy.

    MorteNera,

What you have should be plenty fine for backing up DVD's. I would add DVD Decrypter and with those 3, you'll be fine.

[bold]I was burning along just fine with DVD Shrink when I got an error that it could not write end of Burn-at-Once or the "lead-out" I stupidly didn't copy the error message and cannot find any log for it sadly.[/bold]

Actually, Nero is doing your burning, shrink can't burn but is set up to auto burn with Nero. Nero should have a burn log.

[bold]The speed I tried burning at was 6x[/bold]

Tho I never burn at over 4x, 6x isn't too bad but the faster the burn the more chance for errors. In fact on PS2 games I only burn at 1x. I would definitely try a burn at 4x or maybe even 2.4x and see what happens.

What evil spawn programs are you talking about?

LoNer is right, I never multitask while doing PC backups, and tho on my PC I don't have to disable firewall, anti-virus, etc., unfortunately some people do. It really depends on your system :>)

Thanks alot guys, I had been reading about some stuff that comes with Nero that can mess up burning but I may be wrong (thus my comment about evil Nero Spawn), I'll try slower speed and I'll add my error log in a moment if I can find it.

    Found it!
