I have WINXP Pro, and i recently bought a CyberDrive DVD-ROM, the 12X version. I bought this on good faith because the CyberDrive CD-RW i have is great and works without a hitch. Only problem is that Windows detects it as a CD-ROM. It does play DVDs, quite poorly. It skips every 30 seconds or so. It's almost impossible to watch a movie on my comp. Can anyone help me? It's set to Slave on my IDE-0, everything is secure and plugged in firm. How can i make windows see it as a DVD-ROM? The device manager detects an ATAPI DVD-ROM. I have 512 MB PC2100 DDR RAM, an Athlon XP 1700+, GeForce 4 TI 4600, sound blaster live! 5.1

    thanks alot!!!!

Try this.. If You allready haven't!

Uninstall it and if XP don't find it again automatically, start "add new hardware"-wizard.

And You can also change it to IDE-1 master and setup the cd/rw-drive IDE-1 slave ('cos it's older)
    (that was "mutu" = "musta tuntuu"= "I think"-knowledge)
