Spotty DVD play

    I have a Tosheba Tecra 8000 with a DVD player, running Windows2000. When I play dvd's the sound/video seems to studder. It will studder, continue, studder, continue... the whole time. My audio cd's play fine but the dvd's will not.
    I've tried using Nero, Roxio Easy Media Creator 7, Interactual, PowerDVD and I still get the same thing.
    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I get this with standard commercial dvd's, like "MAN OF FIRE", "BRUCE ALMIGHTY", and other dvd's I've purchased.
