I just downloaded a couple episodes of a tv show I like and was going to make a dvd with them but found out each 25 minute episode is 1.3 gigs each. I've tried converting them to Mpeg but its still the same size. I don't quite understand it. I've downloaded other TV series in the past and cout fit 8-10 25 minute episodes on a dvd not 3. Is there a compression/conversion tool I can use to make these files a little more bearable?

The 8-10 episodes were obviously of a much lower quality.

What program are you using to convert them into MPEG2?

It'll probably be the bitrate of the file which is giving you grief (when you convert to MPEG2, wind this down). You can use a program like GSpot to check the specs of a video file.

If you write them as VOBs onto your hard drive, then you could use DVD Shrink to make it all fit.
