why are files so large!?

    I used windv to transfer my minidv's to my computer and used type 2 (vid+aud) and it came out the be almost 18gigs!!! Is this normal or i have i set something up incorrectly?

    well jgjones yes when u transfer videos from DV to computer it made big big files , you feel much more in GB size if u transfer a big movie around 60min SP, 90min LP ,(many people i know use LP , i don't know why , even if it less in quality),when i transfer 20min video to avi 'dvd quality'original'quality',i find it 6.07GB but if u put full movie... i mean 60min (ummmm 20min*3=60min, 6'GB'*3=18'GB' ) well in this case i believe u put around 60min video on your computer,am i wrong?

    well i still advise to use adobe premiere to edit/im/export video(s).
