Post Links To Your Favorite Audio Apps!

This thread was created to accumulate a list of software that has been used to the point that if a member of this forum feels that the application is worth mentioning may do so. This is not an advertisment for a company! Please try to post links to software that have a Free and/or Open-Source license first [bold](no demos of software!)[/bold]. If you must make comments keep them brief (3 - 5 lines maximum) and under the link to the software. Any suggestions welcome and appreciated.

    What's your favorite audio app?

so do you only want free software, or can we share opinions on licenced software as well?

The point was to create a list of the best free software but you may talk about any piece of software that you feel is the greatest as long as you don't post "Direct" links to software demos (A home page with links to Demos is fine). Give the name of the software, a link to its home page, and your opinion. Make sure to let the reader know when an application is not "Free-ware."

    Format your post like:

    ------------------------------------------------------

    [Catagory of Software]

    (Type; License or Sub-Catagory)

    #) [bold][Name][/bold]
    [Link to Home Page]
    [Opinion area]

    -----------------------------------------------------

If you could post as above it would be appreciated.

    Thanks for asking,
    Ced

the reason why i stop using kazaa was because of all the fakes i've been getting.
i recently tried BitLord d/ling torrents, i've heard a lot of positive feedbacks from it, but i cant get it to go faster than 5 kb/s :(

Is BitLord not simply BitComet with a different colour scheme? I bet if you looked at the code it would be practically the same.

BitComet came 1st and isn't open source, as far as I know, although I could be wrong.

Everyone says Azereus is good, I think I'll go try it out as I'm finding BitComet quite slow.#

    Good post anyway mate!

    Thanks,

You arn't the first to say that about BitLord. Its an issue that is splitting the P2P forums Torrent file sharers. No not really but allot of people have said that about the two clients. Yes, BitComet is open source (that's why its on the list)! I heard about BitLord first though. It is possible that BitLord is BitComet since BitComet is under the GNU GPL that allows you to do that sort of thing if you want to as long as you change the name of the software so people don't confuse your product with the other. As time goes on both programs will gain thier own identities and then there will be two differnt but still awsome apps. Thats what Open Source is all about :)

Keep tell'n me about good clean software!

The Bittorrent client I prefer most is ABC. I use it all the time, and it blows away the original. This manages all of your currently downloading torrents perfectly and always gives me a great speed.

I have never tried Azureus since it is Java based and Java is a memory hog.
