I am trying to get into the recovery mode for my XBOX and keep getting Loading... -HALT! I have XBOX version 1.0. I have the Xenium ICE chip. I have the switch set to recovery mode. When turning XBOX on, red light on chip and front button blinks yellow then turns to red when I get the HALT message. I have a CD in the DVD drive with Xenium OS 2.01 on it and the system does not seem to read it. When I switch the Xenium chip to normal mode, I get the XBOX service screen contact customer service with error code 05 (unlocked Hard Drive). What do I do now. I want to get into recovery mode to lock the hard drive but can't. Please help.
You probably have a Thomson drive which has problems reading anything and everything. Try switching media.. CD and DVD RW's work better than CD-R's. If all else fails, get a friend's Xbox, make sure it's something better than a Thomson, swap the DVD drives temporarily and flash your chip using that.
