if you want to check that your remote is working next time just turn the camera on your phone on and point the remote at the camera and press a button on the remote and if its working you will see a flash on your camera from the sensor on the remote

try opening it and making sure everything is tight in place and if it still won't work check the batteries or alternatively whack it off something, it worked with mine and it's still working.

Sorry To trouble you lads but I have a wee prob Ive just got a starview(1) genuine and Old but the version is API 2.58e_E sep '06 now i not very good with this type of box but i did research and got GTR0m loader 4.0 from Eamo's Library ( thanks Eamo) but there is no Bin File for the 258 can any one help ?

No prob finding Starview but Just not downloading the Bin File -
Im Presumeing that the file Deletes an identical file on the box so I guess i Need the correct one to proceed but will one of the other do the trick?

vicatron i have downloaded gtron 600 but i cant find blue screen with red arrow on it,but when i get onto com 1 and bin file then press download it says it cant find file can you help thanks.

i dont know about the blue screen but you have to make sure that the com port matches the one the cable is using.

click control panel,then system, then hardware,then device manager, then ports and make sure the com ports match up...if not then change it.

bluetate you need gtromloader4.oo and you need the correct bin file when you download the bin file to your computer you might need to unrap it if its a zipped folder so you will need something like winrar to open the file with then save the file single bin file somewhere on your computer thats handy for you open the gtrom loader and browse for bin file when you double click on the bin file where you saved it into your computer it should appear in the loader and also the stb model should automatically come up above it gcr3510 or whatever then just click download

This is doing my head in, why would the remote for the box not work, then an hour later works no problem. I've changed the bateries, I've whacked it off the floor !!!! any ideas it's driving me mad, couldn't put my codes in tonight until 10pm aaaaahhhhhhh Any help, should I just try to get a new one ?

Whacking it off the floor probally helps lol

You could get a replacement as they are fairly cheapish :)

:-) yeah Vicatron I reckon you're right, as I'm not a bit tecky I need help, this site doesn't sell the Starboxes am I right?...so I've done a bit of googling and I think the latest is Starbox 3 Super...is that right, will that one update itself automatically (and I can always use my old one in the spare room with the new remote from this one :-) 0....any help or advise on which one to get would be much appreciated....love this site btw - thanks

hey lastchanc...it really is very simple to do...im the same with tech stuff and i managed to do it and the lads on here spoon fed me every instruction...they're great!!you only need 3 things...a null modem cable(from most computer shops for just a few quid) a gtrom loader(you dont even need to know what that is...just download it free) and a bin file(free as well) and thats you ready to start.

Was doing some research into Starview 3 and looking at getting one but just want to make sure I dont have too many issues. I am a N*L digital subscriber in Dublin area..is it really as easy as buy, plug in and away ye go ?? Or will i have to imput codes etc? If I do where will I find them?

Any info or advice greatly appreciated..

guys still new to this.i have been given starview the box to update i think i have the right bin file. i have already flashed the eurovox no probs. with the starview box after refashing the box do i need to do a rescan. main reason i ask is my friend has not given me the remote so no hope of me checking the box. thanks in advance

No need for rescan after flash. But just use the prog buttons on the front of the box and check channels that way.

Most probably - depending on what state it was in when he gave it to you, if the channels were still on it then no, but you will still need to check Key Emu is on so you will still need the remote.
