I'm trying to make a dvd out of a bunch of television shows I have. They're all .avi and I've been trying to use TMPGEnc to convert them into MPEG-2, the problem is that my output movie is VERY long. I'm getting output videos that are over an hour long, and the source is only 23 mins.

Is there a setting in TMPGEnc that can fix this, or is there a free program that can crop these files?

That's the nature of the formats you're dealing with. AVI's are a relatively small and efficient format whereas MPEG-2 is not. I suggest installing DVD Shrink in order to compress your files to fit a blank DVD :)

The problem isn't the size of the files on the disc, it's that the last frame of the video plays for about 40 mins.

    Nevermind, I figured it out.

In the TMPEnc Project Wizard I had "Source Range" unchecked. Once I checked that box I was able to tell the program what the last frame of the video is.
