Liteon 48 speed DVD Rom

Can somebody help me please. Just bought a Liteon LTD166s DVd rom, and got Nero 5. It comes up with error No Win-ASPI file.
We havent' any software with this product.
Also bought a 48 speed Cd writer, but can't get that too work either.

 

go adapti .com and downloads then install the aspi driver from there

 

Just tried doesn't work.

 

did you follow the instructions in the file to run it and reboot?

 

Not sure, husband mucking things up.

try this aswell
uninstall the cd rom and writer shut down and reinstall them on start up the driver should load in xp automaticly

 

Could you help me word for word.
Right from the beginning. We used to use an older version of Nero, but I suppose Nero 5 used be used now with a new DVD rom.

 

It won't detect the new hardware even to uninstall it.

 

I'm on Windows ME by the way.
