chipped dvds'

    hi to all,,,
    just wondering if the program DVD Decrypter can overcome
    the chipped problem, assistance appreciated.

    hi,
    not real sure myself,,
    thought it was a device built into newer dvds' to stop
    ppl burning them

    As far as I know, there is no such thing as a chipped DVD. Maybe I'm wrong and it's totally new or something. The protection on a dvd is called content scrambling system (CSS) and that can be overcome by using DVD decrypter or any other dvd ripping software. Then just use DVD Shrink to re-encode and lastly, burn with Nero.

    you are probably right, this isnt my forte, just
    doing a friend a fav',
    have downloaded the Decrypter and will pass it on.
    is the Shrink gizmo a necessary too?

    Yeah, DVD Shrink is needed to make your movie fit onto a dvd-r. Most movies are 7+ GB and a dvd-r is about 4.3 GB. Check out the guides section here. They're really easy to follow and will get you up and running in no time.
