How do I convert a DVD into an AVI quickly and easily?

I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum, but I was wondering, is there a quick easy way to convert a DVD into an AVI/MPEG? I've read some of the guides here, but I want something quicker and a lot easier. Is there a program that can do it for you?
