Firstly the guide on here on how to make a DVD out of divx or xvid .avi files is great. One problem though. In TMPGEnc, on the second to last screen where you select the file size and what kind of media your copying to, I can not get the file (and have tried 3 files now) to 96%. The closest i can get is to about 113% ... what is the reason for this and how do I fix it? I have followed all the other steps EXACTLY (I think).
I am having the same problem, and I have followed this guide to the very word. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm I get over 100% minimum when working on converting the xvid to mpeg-2. HELP
Ok, i follow every step in the step-by-step guide to make a .avi (xvid) to a DVD. I get to the second to last step in TMPGEnc where you choose the media your writing to (4.7gb DVD disc) and then reduce the file size to fit. BUT I can't get the file size down to 96%, lowest size i can get is 113%. What am I doing wrong?
The other alternative you could try is use TMPGEnc Xpress, it actually allows you to compress it to 96% if you cannot do it with the TMPGEnc as once i had the same problem and worked easy with TMPGEnc Xpress. Hope this helps Achillies~
dont use tmpeg theres a much better program called Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD MPEG Converter Pro if u need it because its not free email me at bertcache@yahoo.com
sorry for the spelling in the last replay but i have bought a copy of "Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD MPEG Converter Pro" and will be glad to share it with u and help u more
The only thing with Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD MPEG Converter Pro, the encoding quality is not very good at all as TMPGEnc has a much higher encoding engine. I do recommend "TMPGEnc XPress". if you would like to email me about TMPGEnc Xpress, my email is angelus_1_1@hotmail.com Achillies~
now now, no need to get spastic, i have used it as well and the truth is the quality of the encoding is not as good as TMPGEnc or CCE. It does work, and easier to handle but not as good. Ask anyone else here, but to each their own.
i downloaded(legaly) and burned Scooby Doo for my 5 year old cousin and i watched it to make sure it worked and it was as if u were watching a 3d movie
