Which DVD+R to use in the PS2

Hi All
I've just bought a philips DVDRW228 with which i got a philips DVD+RW disc i copied 007 nightfire with nero on the fly and it works fine in my version 5 PS2 I then bought some datawrite DVD+R discs and tried the same thing with the same game and process, no such luck doesn't play but the pc shows that it is an exact copy (same bytes etc). Does the PS2 only work with certain DVD+R media and if so can anyone recommend one from experience???

your ps2 is more likely to run +r disks than +rw. i would suggest that it is the quality of your media m8.

did you just copy the game straight off in nero? - no imaging or cloning at all? is your ps2 chipped?

Hi snoogins

Thanks for the reply, my ps2 is a uk version 5 with a messiah chip. The game was done on the fly with nero 5.5.9.8 using the new philips dvdrw228 the disc i used was a philips +rw.

I have the same problem...
Sometimes (test..) i first copy on DVD+rw and then when it works onto a DVD+r.
Sometimes the game copies fine to the DVD+rw and the same games copied to a DVD+r gives (during writing) a certain error.

I think +rw is more stable or something.
The DVD+R and DVD+rw i used are Platinum so the same brand for each.

I also got a PS2 v5 with Messiah.

I think i stick to the Platinum DVD+rw for some time now.
