Hi i'm having a video issue with my ps3. It powers on and everything but no video shows up, but i know my tv detects that there is some sort of connection (the av or hdmi will not show up at all if nothing is connected and turned on to those ports) I have tried hooking it up through the regular av slot and the hdmi slot and still a black screen. (all cables are good, tried them on another ps3, and all ports on the tv are good) did not try hooking up with component cables as I have none, but i don't think that they will make a difference.
I also tried the holding down the power button till it beeps thing to reset the video, but that doesn't seem to be working even tho i'm pretty sure i'm doing everything right. Is there anyway to COMPLETELY reset the system without being able to view the screen, or can anybody think of what specifically could be wrong? Haven't taken apart the ps3 yet, but everything appears to be clean, no excess dust that I can see.

Warranty is a year, but you will need a receipt, sony is pretty picky about that 2. You need hard evidence to prove when you bought it or they will charge the $150 to (possibly) fix it.

you need a tamper-proof t-10 (torx) it needs to be a screwdriver 2 or a certain kind of socket set, most socket sets won't work because it wont fit down the length of the slot where the screw is held.
