Had my first successful burn today using Shrink and Decrypter (great guide, ScubaPete). The bad part is, it wasn't on my coumputer! I was dog-sitting Kado the wonder dog (120 lb. Akita) for my son today and decided to use his computer and see if I could rip and burn a movie. He has a 3 month old Dell that is a hell of a lot faster than mine. I haven't been able to rip and burn on my computer (I can rip, but I can't burn). It ripped the movie in about 15 minutes and burned it in 25 minutes at 1X speed. Played it in his home theather system and played it in mine.

Now, if I could just figure out why mine won't burn -- won't go past the 11% mark. I have the most current firmware and hdd has been defragged. Used at least 6 different type/brand of media and always the same error. Checked for working ASPI and found out it was not installed properly. Uninstalled it, went to forceaspi18 for new one, turned off firewall & A/V, installed aspi and rebooted, still says not properly installed. I think it has to with the registery. There is a lot of Symantec crap in there and I no longer have Symantec/Norton installed -- using McAfee. I hate to go spend $75-$100 for a new burner and find out that isn't the problem. Anyone have any ideas about why it won't burn? BTW, it is an external LiteOn- DVDRW LDW-851S. Thanks.

    Tom
