New To Home Theatre

    Does a sony dvd home theatre system enable you to hear the tv in surround sound as well as discs

    Only if you have sound outputs on your tv. If you have a satalite, cable box, or even a vcr(stereo prefferd) then those will also enable you to hear tv broadcasts on your theater system. What you want to do is make sure that the home theatre system you are talking about has audio inputs.

    does sony have scart input? if so you can connect multiple scources.ie; nicam vcr....sky box....freeview box.....granted this will only be in pro logic...unless your skybox is sky + then you will., if wired correctly have true 5-1 sound...enjoy

    Keep in mind that scart is mostly available to europe. I've never seen a scart connection for NTSC equipment. Not to say it doesn't exist, but it's not common.
