Hi, I have an iLo DVDR04, only used it for about three timer recordings but it works great so far, except for one problem. Lets say I record a three hour program. It just gives me one three hour long chapter, not inserting chapter marks at 5 minutes like it is suppossed to. I tried changing the chapter insertion to 10 minutes and got the same results. Before even using the unit I did upgrade the firmware with the hacked version of 07 I think it was, and it updated fine. Anybody have any ideas? I hope the firmware did not cause this. Kind of a problem as if I watch an hour or so of the program, then the next day want to watch the rest, I have to fast forward through the one hour I have already seen. One last thing, I am not watching thru the iLo but an RCA dvd player, but I tried watching thru the iLo too and still see the one long chapter, so it looks like it is not an issue with which player I use. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have gone thru the manual and think I have everything set up ok, and again I DO have the chapter marks enabled in the setup menu.
Unfortunately the chapter marks only work by using the next/forward button.I contacted ilo via e-mail they said there is only one title thumbnail for each burn and chapters are only accessed through the forward/reverse buttons. If you press the forward button it will skip 5 min for every push.
Ahh, that explains it, thank you very much. guess I better start using the iLo to watch stuff, I did mess around with the "info" button on my RCA dvd player and I see that the chapters are there, but I can't get to them. Thanks again for the info, saved me an email to iLo myself.
while viewing chapters, is it possible to edit parts out of individual chapters? one of the reasons i bought the ilo was because it said you can edit recordings, but they never said you can only edit the names of the recordings which is currently the case... who cares if you can edit the names...
