Backup SSX tricky

I tried to back up SSX Tricky to DVD+R with the instructions using CDRWIN and haven't had luck. Is the procedure the same for DVD based games as CD's or do the DVD ones even need patched?

I can't seem to get CDRWin read the DVD. I'm using ver 3.9b, do I need to upgade?

I have burnt the program successfully but it wont play. I have an AOPEN DVRW2412pro.

I have copied DVD films and they work so can some help me.

Appreciate answers to any or all of the above, thanks
