My college has been doing bandwidth shaping, which means its sets aside a certain amount of bandwidth for certaint things, so naturally the limit on file sharing programs are very very low. I think it is done on ports, because i can obviously DL fast through HTTP or IRC. Sure IRC is great for the new stuff, but i wanna look for some of the old stuff. Anyone know a way around this? I was getting good speeds on Direct Connect until recently, it drops to about 700bytes/s. Is that me or my college?
