Whats the boot method for using the Magic 3 and does it have difficulties with cdr backups?

Here they are and i have no problems with any backups and I have the Magic 3.

Magic 3 Booting Instructions

With the disk in the tray and the tray closed:

For PS2 games, power up normally from STANDBY with RESET
button. A single tap is required.
For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with
RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then
release RESET and the disk will boot.
Please turn off the PS2 (to standby) before changing Mode
(PS1/PS2/DVD)

Hmmm, mine don`t seem to be working this way. It appears to be pretty much hit and miss. Quite a few of my cdrips and dvdr`s tend to just produce a black screen or the memory card selection screen comes up for some reason. Certainly it appears to have problems switching to and from dvd and cdr.

What am I supposed to do when i decide to change games for example? Just remove the disk with the last game running and pop in a new one and power down?

I`m unsure weather the magic3 chip i`ve had installed is working correctly or if its the media i`m having problems with.

When I change discs i put the new one in then power down then back up and boot new game from the procedure I gave you. What media are you using for both CDR and DVD. Also what burning software do you use.

Because this isn`t happening 100% of the time for me, and disks that work sometimes arn't working all the time.

I`m using datasafe media 80min cdrs using clone-cd to burn themand FWS whitetop branded dvdrs with prassi.

Power down and next power on. It is now in standby mode. Red light is burning.
Single tap on the reset and backup starts.

It exactly the same as the messiah ..

I think (that's what i read) the Messiah is more stable (booting allways correct) than the Magic3 chip. Correct me if i'm wrong guys..
