Hi, I just started burning DVD's and was successful with my first one. However with #2 I keep getting an error message about 3-4 mins. into the burn process... From the log it looks like a write error due to either bad media or bad communication. How many times has this happened? Have you tried other media brands? Was this a -R or a -RW disk? Internal or external burner? You should definitely use an RW disk until the problem is resolved. Steps you might want to take: 1. Uninstall all DVD related software. (Decrypter, Nero, etc.) 2. Restart the computer a couple of times. 3. Do clean reinstalls of the software. 4. See if a firmware update is available for your burner. http://cdrinfo.com/Sections/Firmware/Home.aspx
It is an internal burner and I was using a -RW disk. It did not happen at all when I burned the first DVD for another movie... it just happened with the 2nd try with a new movie. I forgot to mention I did have to shrink it down as well to get it under 4.3 Gigs.
So how many times have you tried with the -RW and gotten the same message? Have you restarted the computer in the meanwhile before attempting another burn?
Twice, and I did re-start the computer as well. I'm going to try and burn a completely different movie and see if it happens again... maybe it's just that specific movie?
