I have a v5 no solder modchip and i burn all my games with nero and they boot great. I can't seem to get any EA games to boot tho, is there a special way to burn them or how do u patch them. I tried 007 nightfire but it wont work. If anybody could help that would be great

EA Method
(Games must be patched)

Insert AR2/GS2 Disc 1.
Power down the PS2 (red light should now be on)
Power up the PS2 and keep the power button pressed.
Wait for the AR2 menu to appear.
Select Start Game.
Select Without Codes.
Let go of the POWER button... The CD tray will open.
Swap the AR2/GS2 disc for your backup disc (you have 4 seconds)
The CD tray will auto-close.
Press X.
That should be most of your troubles out of the way…

i have one more question. how do you patch the newer games like madden 03, bond nightfire and ncaa 2003. I didnt see any patches for those games.
And my disk tray never opens when i hold in the power button and then release it at the swap disc screen

There is actually a program there to patch games but I can't remember what its called. There are several guides there to read from. Read Ps2 Booting For Dummies because it has a lot of info about booting specific versions of ps2 and if your tray doesnt open than maybe its a different version but maybe you need to use the knife method to make the tray pop out.
