COMPUTER CANT FIND DVDr DRIVE?!!!

When i started up my computer today, for some reason it said that it couldnt locate the DVDr drive and the CD ROM drive. I checked to see if the drivers were installed, and they were. Do i have some sort of virus, or did someone just delete some needed softwear. Does anyone know how I could fix this?
