error reading data???

    I recently started having these "error reading data" burn problems with Nero. I am trying to copy a backup copy, which I had no problems before doing. I have been using FUJI 8X dvd-r's. It doesn't happen all the time but it is happening way more then I would like. I would say it's been happening 4 out of 10 times. i try to burn a copy. Does anyone know why this error message happens? Could it be my dvd drive is not working correctly? How can I check to see if it is or is not?

    Have tried ripping the disk to your hard drive and then reburning? Direct copy to disk is touchy w/r to read errors.
