Apparently adding video to a disc (only data multi session) can't be done over a period of time, or a session is limited to one burn then closes the disc. I thought the beauty of making a DVD is being able to add home movies/clips etc. to a disc. I'm not sure of my information on the subject is even accurate. I've contacted support , but no reply. Are most DVD software like that?

Use RWs, it's safer and more convenient.

To the best of my knowledge, you can always add to a RW disk. I would never use a +R or -R disk unless I wanted to archive a copy of the completed RW disk. Maybe that's just me.

May I inquire as to more precisely what you're trying to do. Are you trying to backup DVDs or what?

Just creating video that I edit with movie maker from screen capture of VHS, TV, etc. Then burn in a DVD format.
