.rar to .avi to DVD problemo

    Hi, im having trouble converting my avi file to DVD. I downloaded a movie that gave me a bunch of .rar files so i tried extracting them with WinRar. The whole movie showed up when I told it to in one bug avi file. The problem when I tried to use TMPeng and opening my AVI file in the 1st "browse" box, it gives me the following error: " File"C:/Document & settings/owner/desktop/dvl-tadvdscr.avi" can not open, or unsupported " How can i fix this error?
    I was using this guide http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm under the guide section of this website.
