    Hi,

I've bought lately used gamecube withaut power and AV cable, and i have questions.

    1. I know where to buy AV cable but I heard that AV cable from Nintendo64 will fit, if that is true I could buy cheaper one, someone could confirm it for me?

    2. Is power cable from N64 compatible with GC?
2a. So, if its not compatible then could i make a power adaptor from ie. printer power adaptor? How to connect power and not damage the console?

    3. About memory card. Is there a big advantage having original memory card over non-original?

    Thanks in advance.

The Gamecube uses the same A/V cable as the N64 as well as the Super Nintendo. The A/C adapter is however, unique to the Gamecube. As far as memory cards go, I personally prefer Nintendo made cards as how they are guaranteed to not have any problems but non-oem cards usually work.

Now i mannaged to power up gamecube.

First, i used adaptor with output 12V and 1.25A. DVD rotor wont spin and laser wont moved but tried to move.

Second, i used 13.5V 1.8A adaptor. DVD rotor still wont spin, but now laser has moved as he try to scan for data.

I'm using mini-cdr bcoz i doesnt own any original game now. Maybe rotor starts spin only when detects original media, i dont know, tell me. Maybe my DVD drive engine is broken?

Also, what are specifications of original gamecube power adaptor? If it have some label, then let someone tell me what are specs of output? Perfectly will be if someone could post scan of label on it (if there is one), or could tell me where on net there are some informations about it.

Dont say this. You are talking about piracy...

    [bold]StoneRain[/bold],
I'm using mini-cdr only to test if gamecube engine is working corectly. I dont own any original now bcos, as I sad, I bought console yesterday so I doesnt have any at the moment.

    So, still my question is.
Is rotor starts spin only when detects original media? Bcos it wont spin for mini-cdr for me. Could someone who owns non-moded gamecube please check it for me. Do this: insert mini-cdr and close lid, then listen is cdr spins, then tell me what happens.

I cant buy on ebay bcoz i dont live in US or in western Europe, therefore i must figure out power adaptor problem myself.
