I have a liteon LTD-165H dvd rom which will not open anymore. I had to take back my graphics card after it stopped working and when I brought home the replacement the computer shop gave me while my card is being sent back to the manufacturer I discovered that my dvd rom will not open. The green light still flashes when I press the open button but then it stops and the dvd rom stays closed. Is there anything I can do to get the dvd rom to open??
if there is a small hole in front of drive, take a straighten paper clip & insert it into that small hole & pusk in. drive tray should start coming out & pull tray out the rest of the way
Thanks ddp, I opened my drive but I can't get it to read a dvd rom or open if I press the open button, and now for some reason it's not being recognised by My Computer. Is my dvd rom faulty or is it something else?
spike have you tried disconnecting it reboot then turn pc off again connect and reboot. When you power it down unplug it for a few minutes like 10-15 this forces you machine to reset itself. if your machine is old sometimes the go to the cemetary unexpectedly.
The drive is about 2 1/2 years old. I tried disconnecting it and running my pc without it for a while and this hasn't worked. I haven't had much luck with my pc lately. First my motherboard stopped working, then my graphics card and now my dvd rom may be headed for the rubbish bin.
