    Hi there
First of all you need a lot of disc space
    Then you must think
    1. Download good quality files
    2. Authoring
    3. Burning
    4. Hoping
In that order - Ares are pretty good for downloading,
dvx to DVD is good for authoring to create vobs ifos and bups - then a free program called DVD express is a good burner - no limitations on the trial versions so just google them and enjoy your burning.

DONT do anything whilst its burning - leave your computer alone and disable your screensaver

    Good Luck

Search and download DVD Santa. This will convert many types of files to dvd format and when done will burn to disc. When downloaded for free you will get a watermark on your video. If you pay $30 you can get rid of the watermark.
