I have been asked to take a collection of old photographs and edit them up so as they get all the special effects 3D, Rolls and stuff like that using
Unlead studio SE 7 basic. That is no problem but then getting them from there to DVD-R disk is were I need help. I have scroll through this forum and found a 30day trial on TMPGE encoder 2 and was able to get them from Avi to M2v and that's were I am stuck. What's the next step or have I done the wrong thing.

Read the articles in the "Basics" section of http://www.digitalvideoclub.com
One you have it converted to mpeg, ypu need an authoring tool to burn it to DVD. Read: http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/basics/createdisc.php

By the way: if you end up with an m2v file in TMPGEnc this means that you don't have audio in your file. I guess that's OK for you because you are apparently encoding just photographs without adding any music or other sound.

I don't know which model videocamera you have, but your video probably will not be sent out through USB but through Firewire. So, use a Firewire connection for your transfer

hi, thanks for the reply. i am using the panasonic NV-GS5, what is the fire wire?? how does it look like and which socket should it be connected to? btw, i think there must be a software to get the connection too right? what i have is only a cd-rom containing the usb driver, G.726 audio decoder, and Arcsoft Photoimpression.

Firewire is a port according to the IEEE1394 standard. You will find them in most new PC's these days. Many times you will see "1394" printed next to the port. You can also buy a card with these port if your PC doesn't have it. Yes you need a program to capture your video.
