http://www.modchip.com

Take your pick..

I recomment the magic 3 or 3.5 because they are no swap which means its as easy as insert copy and play!

You should check the site Dela mentioned and check if the modchip plays DVD backups (if you can and want to burn these too).
You do know that some games are Compact Disc and some are DVD-rom games ?
For copying the DVD-rom games you need a DVD burner....

The mesiah rules ..

If you buy a modchip don't do it from www.modchip.com, they charge too much. Can't help you out with a Messiah chip, but I can sell you a Magic 3 guaranteed not a clone.

I have an external modchip, im not sure what its called, but it plugs into the PS2 USB port with a wire. does this modchip also work?
#8 26 Dec 2002 @ 7:00
It will work for CD-r I guess, but it will not work for DVD-copies.

Sorry, you have to buy a better mod to play DVD copies too.

USB mods suck big time! Get a magic 3/3.5 or a messiah chip
#10 26 Dec 2002 @ 9:02
People buy it because they don't have to open their PS2 and can play CD -r copies.
On the long term they don't think..
They buy a DVD-burner and have to buy another modchip too.

I am going to buy a Magic 3.5 modchip. Where do i have to go to have someone install this modchip into the ps2?
#12 26 Dec 2002 @ 14:35
Know any1 who's good at soldering??

if you buy from http://www.modchip.com they include the instructions for install and its easy to understand for someone with welding experience.

Or you could send off your ps2 to someone who specialises in installation but then you'll have to live in fear of not gettin it back perfect or if it wasnt installed perfectly, then ur fuc..d.

Alex, if you have a version V5/V6/V7 PS2 console it takes only 9 wires to solder.

You find someone (a friend who knows how to solder) to do it for you.
The diagrams with the solder points are on:

Good luck ! The Messiah..

The red thing is part of the clip kit. The color squares say "solder me to him!" Meaning, the ones that are the same color are to be soldered to one another.
