burn issues

i have dvd x copy express and using a 4x single side burner have burned for a while using this software recently i have noticed alot of the copies have skips and sometimes the burned disc will lock up and unable to watch on any dvd player i clean temp folders before and after each burn and tried a hard reboot after each burn even tried playing in ps2 sometimes it does help but 20 percent of the time the dvd ends up being a coaster is ther something im missig or not doing please help

 

You must be using cheap media, or burning too fast, or both.

 

i mostly use philips dvd blanks and set the burn rate to is there a way to slow the burn rate down to try to see if this is the problem like i say i am using dvd x copy i looked to see if u can adjust this here but unable
