Oh well I couldn't complain, it runs way better than it did before I sent if back.
Thanks for the response though
Hope all works out for you :)
It didn't for me,and Gee are M$ difficult to talk to,mine only lasted something like 34 days after repair and they wouldn't replace mine because it was out of the 30 day time frame, mind you only 4 days out, they wouldn't budge on an RA #(return authorisation)I had a few choice words for them,(because we haven't actually got xbox 360 support here in australia-they are based in the phillipines or india, not to sure of the exact location, but they definately aren't in australia)they don't know our consumer laws, they say they do,but they don't,so they said I would have to take my enquiry up with the retailer,my enquiry was a refund or brand new replacement, anyways to cut a long story short.I did,I contacted the head office of the retailer and by the end of the buisness day I had a brand spanking new 360,I asked because of the inconvenience could I have it replaced with an elite, they said if thats what you want, thats what you shall get,so,so far so good with the elite, running quiter, has the benq drive.

Ok so I just got the RROD again!! I got the RROD about 6 months ago, and then I didn't touch the console for 2 weeks, turned it back on, and it worked fine until a few days ago. I need to send this in for repairs, but the problem is this system is modded and I don't have a warranty anyways, so Microsoft is out. Anyone have any suggestions on where else to send it for repairs?

Ok, Firstly,If my memory serves me correct, anyone experiencing RROD and have had their consoles repaired by Microsoft automatically get an extended 3 year warrant on the RROD,so therefore you should be covered.Secondly,if the console was modified(flashed-only)and whoever did the flashing should of taken extreme care with the stickers,if they are still intact, get in touch with xbox360 support for repair,I'm sure you know the drill with M$ :)
M$ have no way of telling your console is flashed, well they do(by sticking in a back up copy of a game),but they would be contradicting their own contractual agreements and state laws on back up copies as each state/country has different laws in regards to this.
A majority of the xbox 360 service centres don't give a nelly now about stickers, because of the worlwide problem with the 360 consoles,so they just repair them or toss them and give you a new one or a refurbished one.(although you will occassionally get a clown that will refuse to fix your console if they see it has been tampered with)
Hope this helps you out a little

I am lead to believe samsungs are easy to flash, but you are more than likely to get a Benq back, but just hope you get the right one as also from memory 360 is also now using liteons and they look like Benq's and i think there is also another Benq(second version of Benq) that can't be flashed(as of yet)

Oh well, here is to hoping I get one that can be flashed. I found an excellent tutorial at Xboxmods.net.
Only problem is that I wont have my "real"(AKA Gaming) computer when I get my 360 back because I'm selling it. My other computer doesn't have SATA ports. But I guess I can borrow my Uncles computer or something...

thanks for the feedback, but my console has never been repaired by MS before. I bought it already modded online, and when I got the RROD the 1st time it went away two weeks later, so no need for repairs until now. Does this info impact your suggestions?

You could try phoning xbox 360 support and just explain that you bought a second hand xbox, did you get a receipt? they can tell if it has been in for repair by the prior owner on any issue,so they would be able to tell you if it's been in before with the RROD just by giving them the serial number, but whatever you do don't tell them it has been tampered with, because they do ask you if it has, that may be worth a shot.
