uninstall the cd/dvd drives from the device manager, restart windows so can reloads it's own drivers

I got the same problem. Both my DVD rom and CDR drives are not recognised. I see the exclamation marks in the device manager. I tried to reinstall the drivers. I unistalled the driver and rebooted the machine, still showing the same. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

The exclamation marks are available beside the two drives under CD ROM tree in the device manager.

I am using dual operating systes. WIndows XP Pro with SP2 and Windows 2000 Pro. These drives are working fine in Win 2k.

    - Thanks,
