I have sony handycam. I want to transfer footage captured using USB cable. Please help me in finding the correct software for this. Although Sony has provided one software CD and the same captures the video in good quality but the sequence is all jumbled up and also the original audio is also lost. I would be greatful if some body can suggest some good software which will help in capturing of audio and video of good quality.

    Thanks

Are you sure you want to use USB?
Apparently it is possible with your camera (some models can), but it then is at low quality. This also depends whether you have a camcorder that recordes to tape (miniDV or Digital8) or to DVD.
You should use Firewire for your transfer.

Capturing can be done with many programs. You can easily do it with MovieMaker included in XP. Examples of freeware that you can use are WinDV, DVapp, DVIO and STOIK Capturer.
