background hiss

    ANY YOU GUYS KNOW IF THERES A PROGRAMME OUT THERE THATLL GET RID OF ANNOYING HISSING INTHE BACKGROUND OF A MOVIE?ANYTHING JUST TO IMPROVE IT!ITS NOT A GENUINE DVD RIP!

    Where did you get this movie from? Is it a homemade movie (camcorder) or a download?

    there are plenty of ways to remove hissing (or make it less annoying) although i have only ever done them to wav files using s/w like soudforge etc.

    maybe the audio forum is better suited? you could extract the audio - re EQ it them add back?

    it isnt another paris hilton tape is it? :)

    Using an equalizer will only give very limited result.
    A better ways is to sample a piece of your material that only contains the hiss and substract that from the whole footage where you want to remove the hiss. Confused? Here's a tutorial using two different software packages:
