I have been having problems with my encoded movies playing upside down. I traced the prob to a codec that was running in the background-DivxG 400. I think it came with the nico codec pack or the xvid codec setup.
After removing the codec the problem vanished!!
I have yet to re-instal the codecs to prove the prob.If anyone else has this trouble and tries this out i would appreciate the feedback.
    Cheers

Download the NimoCodecPack , that will see you right.

If you have upsidedown playback problems that you can't seem to explain or get around then try using a different software to play it. I play all my files in windvd and they play well!

I have tried that already. i playback using my DVD player mostly. It still seems to be a rouge codec that is screwing things up. I have divx back in and its still ok so it must have been something in the codec pack i downloaded. Thanks anyway

I don't like codec packs at all. Nothing but one problem after the other. These are the codecs i Installed and I didn't install nimo or anything like that at all.

    DivX ;-) MPEG4 Codec release 3.11 alpha
    xVid Codec (Vite)
Tmd Codec (just in case i need it at some stage)
    Divx Ac3 Codec
    xVid Ac3 Codec
    Radium Mp3 Codec

I usually have no problems with these codecs installed

Just tried the Nimo codec again and it is definitely the problem. When installed, the windows xp media player will not work. This is the same symptoms i had when my movies started encoding upside down. At the moment i have Divx and xvid codecs back in and all is well but having trouble splitting some avi files down. I need to find the codec they was encoded in. Is there any easy way of finding out?
    Thanx
