Problems playing some .mpg and .asf files

    Hi,
    some of my mpg and asf files have all of a sudden started to play weirdly. they were fine before i had to format my comp and reinstall winxp..im using wmp8, but the funny thing is not all mpg files are playing like this only some of them are..when i install wmp9 it works fine. but i dont wanna use wmp9 coz of little petty things in it which annoy me..

    When you re-installed a few registered codecs were probably lost. Do you remeber downloading any codecs before you re-installed??
