Hey all. I recently downloaded the Disney's Gargoyles collection and none of them are playing in either winamp or WMP. In the nfo it gives this info: Quality Information : ----------------- | ----------------- Video Information | Audio Information ----------------- | ----------------- Resolution : 512.384 | Sampling Rate : 44100Hz Video Codec : Divx 5.1.1 | Channels : 2 (STEREO) Framerate : 29.969fps | Compression : Fraunhofer IIS FourCC Code : DX50 | Audio Data Rate : 64kbps Video Data Rate : 923kbps | I'm assuming I need the DIVX codec. I don't have this installed already. I have xvid codec instead. I thought I read somewhere that sometimes installing the Divx and xvid codecs together can screw things up is this true? If not where can I get the divx codec? I know there was a Divx player but I read that this had some adware or something in it. Where could I get just the Divx codec and will it conflict with the xvid codec?
Yep in the XviD decoder options there is a checkbox for DX50. Tick that and it should decode it fine.
Keep in mind that, for decoding purposes, even the trial version of DivX goes fine (FFDShow will go, too). Is for compression purposes that you need to buy it....
