i have a samgsung cd/cdr drive an when i put it in my xbox it dosent work. the drive status in evox alwys says open even when the drive is shut. can someone help me out

 

cd/cdr drive? is this a dvd rom or just cd rom? you need a dvd rom for xbox.

 

this is just a cdr/cdrw drive it dosen't read dvd's but i wanted to hook it up temperarly (sorry about the spelling). so i could read my burned music cd's....

are you saying that a cdr/cdrw drive is not compatible with xbox because it dosent read dvd's?

 

Uh you can't just stick any drive into an Xbox and expect it to work.

 

A regular PC drive cannot read Xbox games, because they are in a different format. However, I know it is possible to hook up a dvd drive to your Xbox and it will be able to read the disc, and I believe the tutorial for this can be found on Xbox Scene forums.
